Hampton Inn Christiansburg, Virginia
Hampton Inn Christiansburg, Virginia
We found recently that the Hampton inn in beautiful Christiansburg, Virginia is a very comfortable and spacious hotel to escape from the blowing snow and falling temperatures. Visiting southwestern Virginia during late November and early December you may encounter some very chilly weather along with snow.
The management team of the Hampton Inn made our stay very comfortable. With a hearty breakfast and a newspaper waiting each morning in the lobby of the hotel it was rather hard to venture out into the cold of a southern Virginia winter.
Thank goodness for the onsite meeting space.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The room had nice amenities such as a large flat screen television, high speed internet that was a snap to connect to and use. The bath was overly large with nice fluffy towels; one of the perks that I personally appreciate. Dual showerheads and a large whirlpool tub to soak away the cold in the evening was a definite plus.
Christiansburg is in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. It’s a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can enjoy four hundred plus miles of unspoiled mountain scenery along with minimum traffic. During the winter months the Blue ridge Parkway is almost deserted but come spring, summer, and fall it is a popular attraction for vacationers to visit. The fall brings some of the most dramatic color you will find in the mountains as the leaves change from their summer green to the fall reds, yellows, and golds’. In fact the Blue Ridge Parkway is the number one destination for motorcycle enthusiasts to ride. The Parkway starts on the outskirts of Cherokee North Carolina and winds through beautiful country views before ending around Charlottesville Virginia. If you continue on The Skyline Drive will take you into Front Royal Virginia.
There are a number of very good restaurants in Christiansburg; Texas Steakhouse had very tasty beef and salads. The Kabuki Japanese Steakhouse put on a delightful show as the chef prepared our meal in front of us. Not only was it a good show but we would return for the great tasting food.
If you find yourself around Christiansburg, Virginia the Hampton Inn and the surrounding restaurants will please you.
